Friends of Emilia was founded in September of 2010 by Danyelle and Christopher Di Guardia in honor of their daughter Emilia, who was born on June 19. Emilia spent her 13 short days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Friends of Emilia is focused on helping the caregivers of the Beth Israel NICU, their tiny patients and the families of their patients. We want to say “Thank you” to the doctors and nurses of the NICU, and also offer assistance to parents, whether they have a child currently in the NICU, have recently brought one home, or didn’t get to bring their child home.
Please consider joining us, whether you wear a purple “I am a Friend of Emilia” wristband or simply share Emilia’s story with someone who has not heard it. We can all be Friends of Emilia. Are you a Friend?
